The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators (ICNLCA) is comprised of one commissioner from each NLC jurisdiction. The commissioners function as the governing body of the agency and work collaboratively to carry out its mission.
To facilitate interstate nursing practice in a manner consistent with public health and safety.
The ICNLCA facilitates cross-border nursing practice through the implementation of a nationally recognized multistate license. ICNLCA enhances nurse mobility and public protection by enforcing compliance with the Compact

The NLC strategic plan focuses on four strategic initiatives that center on partnership development, education of BONs and stakeholders, promotion and engagement, and completion of a comprehensive evaluation plan.
