About the Commission
The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators (ICNLCA) is comprised of one commissioner from each NLC jurisdiction. The commissioners function as the governing body of the agency and work collaboratively to carry out its mission.
Core Purpose
To facilitate interstate nursing practice in a manner consistent with public protection.
Mission Statement
To facilitate cross‐border nursing practice through the implementation of a nationally recognized multistate license.

NLC Commission Resources
The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators (ICNLCA) created resources to help implement the NLC and to facilitate cross-border nursing practice.
FY26-FY28 Strategic Initiatives
The NLC strategic plan focuses on four strategic initiatives that center on partnership development, education of BONs and stakeholders, promotion and engagement, and completion of a comprehensive evaluation plan.
